One of Cheshire’s Oldest & Most Classic Wedding Venues

Capesthorne Hall is a historic country house in Cheshire, located near the village of Siddington. Just a short drive from the picturesque Alderley Edge, the hall is set in 100 acres of formal gardens and woodland and overlooks three stunning lakes. With its elegant Drawing Room, Italian paintings, and huge chandeliers, Capesthorne Hall oozes stately elegance and is a perfect venue for a wedding.

The hall was built in the early 18th century as a family estate and has been in the Bromley-Davenport family since 1726. It has seen various additions throughout the centuries but it has managed to retain much of its original features and grandeur. Like many stately homes around the UK such as Knowsley Hall and Iscoyd Park, the hall was used by the Red Cross as a hospital during World War II.

A Wedding Venue Fit for Royalty – Capesthorne Hall

Capesthorne Hall is now an exclusive wedding venue and is one of the most on-demand venues in Cheshire. The hall is also open to the general public when not being used for weddings, where visitors are able to enjoy the house, formal gardens and woodland.

Indoor ceremonies take place in the Drawing Room which provides an elegant and intimate space for vow exchanges and is complete with huge chandeliers and Italian paintings that adorn its walls. Outdoor ceremonies happen at the Lakeside Gazebo which also doubles up as a stunning spot for portraits! There is even a private chapel in the grounds for religious blessings.

Canapés and drinks take place in the Saloon, which leads out onto the Terrace. This is a stunning spot and provides guests with incredible views of the grounds. The Queen Anne Room is ideal for more intimate wedding breakfasts and can hold up to 80 people. For larger weddings, the Lakeside Wing is available and can accommodate up to 160 guests. If you’re looking for a marquee wedding, the hall’s expansive and well-manicured lawns provide a stunning space and backdrop.

In addition to the main hall, there are also a number of cottages and lodges in the grounds available for guest accommodation. The cottages also provide a relaxing setting for morning preparations before the wedding and are an ideal option for couples who want to stay on site the night before the wedding.  For those looking for a more traditional hotel stay, there are also a number of options in the nearby area.

Whether you are looking for a venue for an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, Capesthorne Hall offers something for everyone. From its stately elegance to its idyllic surroundings, it is easy to see why so many couples choose to tie the knot at this historic country house.
