A Historic Gem In The Heart Of London

RSA House is one of the finest wedding venues in London and offers a unique chic setting to tie the knot. If you’re on the search for a RSA House wedding videographer then get in touch to check our availability. Also known as the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, it is a listed John Adam-designed Georgian mansion that dates back to the late 16th century and is the perfect choice for those looking to get married in the heart of London’s West End.

It always strikes me how it is located in such an amazingly quiet spot for central London. Tucked away just round the corner from Charing Cross and John Adams Street, it is only a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of the usual city life. One of its key features is that it is very well suited to host either a grand celebration or a more intimate affair.

The Timeless Elegance of RSA

The Great Room is RSA House’s jewel in the crown. Its headline feature is its walls which are adorned by a 360-degree painting called “Progress of Human Knowledge and Culture” by James Barry. It really is a breathtaking moment when you first lay eyes on it and it took the artist 23 years to complete! The Great Room can hold a capacity of 120 guests and was designed by the Adam brothers in 1774. Steeped in history, it was where Alexander Graham Bell gave one of the first demonstrations of his new invention, the telephone, in 1877.

The Benjamin Franklin Room is elegant and modern and has a capacity for 100 guests. Named in 1967 to honour the Society’s links to the USA, it has a beautiful Troika chandelier and large floor-to-ceiling windows which flood the room with daylight. This space is the perfect location for a more intimate celebration and it often brings to mind the light and airy spaces at Saltmarshe Hall and Oh Me Oh My.

The Vaults are where RSA Houses’ evening receptions are held. Once used as wine cellars, the Vaults now play host to some of London’s most lavish parties. With exposed 18th-century brick arches and a real atmospheric ambience, it is the perfect setting to dance the night away.

St James Church is an option for those who would like a religious ceremony and is located only a short distance away. Being in central London, there is also an abundance of hotels located near to the venue for those guests who require accommodation. Its staff also deserve a quick mention here as without fail they always provide a warm welcome!

RSA House truly is the epitome of effortless class and sophistication. Brimming with character and history, it offers the perfect blend of elegance and style for your wedding day.
