The venue was born in 2013 when Dan the owner and his family converted it from a working farm. With a vision to create a bespoke rustic wedding venue, they spent two years converting the barn with an aim to retain as many of the structure’s original features as possible. The venue continues to be managed today by Dan, ensuring that Owen House offers a family-run touch to the wedding planning process.

Rustic Elegance At Owen House Wedding Barn
Weddings at Owen House usually begin at The Beauty Shed. It is a stunning bridal prep area and is spacious and bright. It features salon chairs, cloud 9 hairdryers, and even has its own Prosecco fridge! It’s the perfect spot for brides and their bridal party to relax and get ready for the big day. For the guys, there’s the recently added and aptly named Baa-ber Shed. It is a great spot to get ready and hangout prior to the ceremony, featuring a 40” TV, barber chairs, and a beer fridge!
The Civil Ceremony Room is a dedicated and licensed ceremony space and can accommodate up to 150 people. It is adorned with fairy lights and panelled in rustic wood and metal, only adding further to the venue’s rustic charm!
The Barn is the headline space and can hold up to 190 guests for wedding breakfasts and evening parties. It comes with its own bar and features a wonderful shabby chic interior. For guests who need a break from the festivities, Owen House provides a quiet Break Out Room where they can relax and recharge. Food at Owen House is provided by the award-winning Villa in All Seasons or The Cheshire Dining Experience. They will work with you to ensure the perfect bespoke menu for you and your guests and are trusted by many other top wedding venues in the area including the picturesque Styal Lodge.

One of my favourite aspects of the venue has to be the two studio-style spaces ready for group and portrait shots. The first space has huge hay bales which provide a lovely rustic backdrop for group photos and the second space is a hidden gem known as the Shooting Gallery. It has been expertly designed exclusively for wedding portraits and it really is like having your very own private studio setup! And with each of the spaces covered, photographers and videographers can capture stunning outside portraits no matter the weather.
Owen House Wedding Barn is only 10 minutes from Knutsford, making it easily accessible for guests traveling from nearby cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, and Chester. For guests looking to stay overnight, the venue offers 18 rooms and the traditional farmhouse next door is also available for accommodation. The Birds and The Bees is the luxury suite and is a perfect space for bridal couples to relax in on the wedding night.
