Dorfold Hall is a beautiful and historic wedding venue located on the outskirts of Nantwich, Cheshire. We love shooting Dorfold Hall wedding videos and it is always a pleasure to be asked to return. With a rich history dating back to 1616, this stately home has stood the test of time and is now a sought-after wedding venue. With a beautiful mix of old and new and surrounded by gorgeous grounds, Dorfold offers its couples a unique and unforgettable wedding experience.
Today, the main house is a Grade I listed building, reflecting its historical significance and architectural importance. It is full of character and charm and contains many elegant features such as ornate plaster ceilings and stunning wood panelling. It makes the perfect backdrop for a wedding. But it’s not just the main house that makes Dorfold Hall so special. The venue also boasts other older brick buildings, a clock tower (similar to the one at Hallé St Peters!), a secluded courtyard and it has recently seen the addition of the incredible L’Écurie. I always feel it is almost like its own little wedding village!
Modern Character Meets Stately Charm
The Coach House, which is over 200 years old and has been recently renovated, plays host to most of the venue’s indoor ceremonies. It is full of character and rustic charm and is made up of brick walls and exposed beams. It makes such a stunning backdrop for Dorfold Hall wedding videos. For couples who prefer an outdoor ceremony, the lawn provides a gorgeous setting and is surrounded by the venue’s beautiful grounds.
On a recent visit, I saw Dorfold’s brand new event space L’Écurie for the first time. To say I was impressed is an understatement. Built during the Covid-19 pandemic, it now holds Dorfold Hall’s wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. The new hall is spacious, airy and light and provides an incredible juxtaposition to the history that surrounds it. The Tack room, another recent addition, sits opposite L’Écurie and provides an additional unique event space for your celebration.

Dorfold Hall is run by Charles and Candice, who have a meticulous eye for detail and a love for the venue that shines through in everything they do. It is also staffed by an outstanding team, including a dedicated wedding coordinator, who will work with you to ensure that every detail of your day is perfect from start to finish.
Similar to other Cheshire venues like Merrydale Manor, Dorfold Hall boasts some beautiful grounds and includes many unique features such as walled gardens and a stunning lake. These backdrops make portrait shoots pretty easy for a Dorfold Hall wedding videographer! The venue also has two picturesque cottages, Redwood and Lakeside, that provide a warm and cosy welcome to guests. Redwood Cottage can provide accommodation for up to 6 people, while Lakeside Cottage can accommodate 4 adults.
